Repayment calculator |
This calculator can be used to help you assess whether it
is worth switching from one mortgage scheme to another. If
you choose to remortgage, your existing lender may charge
a redemption fee, there may be a charge from your new lender
and you will also have to pay legal and administrative costs.
These costs are called the switching costs. To measure whether
it is worthwhile remortgaging, the NPV (Net Present Value)
of any improved cash flow from the switch is compared with
the switch costs.
It is only worthwhile switching from an existing scheme to
a new one if the switch costs are low enough. This means that
the new scheme must produce enough savings over the expected
life of the new mortgage to cover the switching costs. This
calculator measures the NPV (Net Present Value) of any improved
cash flows resulting from the switch. A switch is only worthwhile
if the actual total switch costs work out less than the NPV
figure calculated. A negative figure implies that a switch
is only worthwhile if there is a cashback of at least that
figure paid out from the new scheme.
Please note: This calculator should be used for indicative purposes
only and should not be taken as representing advice. Always
get a full quotation from your lender or other professional
adviser before purchasing a remortgage product.

| Spotlight On | Calabria is the most southern province of Italy’s mainland. With its 750 km long coast it offers long, sandy almost completely empty beaches. In Calabria you can enjoy the authentic, un-spoilt southern Italy and in many villages time has stood still and life is very quite and tranquil. Calabria is a place for two types of people: Calabrians (and their descendants - sometimes) and adventurers. It is bewildering, even frightening to all others, but richly rewarding for those who want to go beyond the Hollywood stereotype of Italy. | Bargain Basement | Affordable and very popular Italian properties. | Choice picks | When we think of Umbria we think of the Italian word ombra. Shadow. One of Italy's smallest regions, Umbria lies in the shadow of its more illustrious neighbor, Tuscany. The many Umbrian hills and mountains cast long dark shadows over river valleys which are already darkened by lush chestnut groves and elm forests. This landlocked region's overwhelmingly medieval character harkens one back to the mysticism and mysteries of the Dark Ages. | Hot New Homes | Buying new in Italy doesn't need to break the bank. | Latest Additions | An automatically updating page that shows the 5 newest properties on TheMoveChannel.com in this country. | Features File | If you're feeling adventurous, you can find cheap property abroad with good potential returns… | Forums | Askother users about their experiences, share your own adviceand suggestions, or simply have a nose at what other people have to say. | Online store | Browse listings for a range of books, software, magazines and other products to help you with your property activities... |
