Castelsardo is a fortified medieval town which still maintains its ancient charm intact. The well preserved old town perched on top of the cliff, the ancient Doria Castle, now a basket-weavery museum, the defensive walls and the Aragonese bell tower of the beautiful Cathedral of Sant'Antonio Abate all contribute to give Castelsardo its magical atmosphere. Around the town we find numerous white, sandy beaches (Marina, Lu Bagnu, Vignaccia, Baia Ostina) and also rocky shores ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. It is also the ideal place to practice water sports such as wind surfing, and sailing. The town also offers a well-equipped and efficiently-run tourist port, with moorings for around 800 boats and is also well served with bars restaurants and shops. Lu Bagnu namely “the swim” is considered from the locals the lido of Castelsardo. Lu Bagnu is undergoing a major development and is quickly becoming one of the most popular resorts in North Sardinia.
