Location The 'Green Heart of Italy', as Umbria is often called, is a beautiful, unspoilt region lying between Rome and Florence and easily accessible to both. Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto, Todi ,Corciano and Orvieto are just some of the fascinating medieval hill towns that are within easy reach of Villa Girasole. There are also numerous national parks and great opportunities for exploring the Umbrian hills and the high pastures of the Apennines on foot.

Villa Girasole lies in the Umbrian hills just 14kms NE of Perugia and 18kms from Lake Trasimeno on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. The nearest village, Colle Umberto, 1.5kms, has a bar, supermarket and pizzeria and an hourly bus service to Perugia.

Description of buildings The main house is on two floors and can sleep up to 12 people. It has three double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, two single rooms and four bathrooms. There are two living rooms, two dining rooms, a kitchen, a study, a music room and a laundry/cellar. The house is centrally heated and has two fireplaces. The Apartment is on the ground floor with a separate entrance off the original monastery courtyard. It has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with both bath and shower. The kitchen/dining room opens directly onto a private courtyard garden with a barbecue. Another small sitting room with a fireplace adjoins the kitchen. The apartment is centrally heated.

Condition The house is over 500 years old. It has been carefully and lovingly restored and has wonderful views over the surrounding fields, woods, vineyards and olive groves. Land and pool Villa Girasole is surrounded by 12,000 sqm of land. The large, shady garden has a barbecue and all the facilities for dining outside.
