Great views for a great living – 5 400 sqm garden with terraced wine and olivetrees at the foot of Etna overlooking the mediterranean sea. Fresh air and golden sunshine creates an exclusive feeling beside the magnificent hill slopes surrounding the vulcano. Excellent for producing the local wine that grows on terraces.
This is a special opportunity to get local culture, history, and at the same time a beautiful modern living. There is a small farm house with bathroom, bedroom and a large kitchenroom at the property entrance. It has been in use with water, plumbing and gas. Restoring is needed, or a new house can be built at the top of the terraces according to an existing building permission. A White Mulberry tree is growing at the top, and the garden has also got fruit trees with lemons, figs, plums, cherries, flowers and herbs. Fruits, olives and grapes grow very well on the land near Etna with it’s special sulphuric soil, some new vines are planted in a perfect mix that will make it possible to produce an excellent local, dark wine.
The address is Via Regia Corte, at the village center of Piedimonte Etneo, which is connected to the highway between Messina and Catania with international airport. The village is small and well kept, there are several restaurants and cafes, a nice square in front of the church, and of course the seasons vegetables and fruits are sold at the main street. Situated close to North Africa the climate is warm and pleasant all around the year. With only 5 km to the long beach from St Anna to Taormina you get a good day for a swim whenever you want.
One can stay at the site and be satisfied with the day, just watching the surroundings, or paint, read, write or talk to a friend. Even if it’s hot, there is a gentle, fresh breeze, and it’s easy to get to the beach if one has a scooter or a car, it’s just downhill.
In the morning You can tip-toe down the street to a coffee shop or buy some fresh fruit. If You like to see the beautiful meadows uphill the vulcano with herbs and mushrooms and visit the National Park of Etna it is just around the corner. If You want to go shopping or visit exclusive restaurants, the beautiful village of Taormina has it ALL, dramatically situated at a rock above the sea and also above the old harbour village Giardini di Naxos with more of an easygoing tourist nightlife.
This is the old country of both Santa Lucia, Corleone and Montalbani. Are You interested? I will be happy to answer questions.
